Oh the Places

poster series

When I think about some of the cities I have been lucky enough to visit, specific colors, shapes, and feelings come to mind. Through the use of duotone imagery, I was able to recapture the moods for location and paired with cut construction paper was used to visually represent my interpretation of each cities uniqueness. The final posters are intended to feel textural, handmade, layered, and complex as they represent my personal experiences. I was inspired by a few beloved collage artists including Kurt Schwitters and Eric Carle and their mutual use and understanding of color, texture, and composition.
