An exhibition designed to highlight the innovation and iconic design of the Bialetti Moka Express.
The Bialetti Moka Express was an
iconic innovation of the 20th Century.
Alfonso Bialetti designed and invented the Moka Express in 1933.
This changed Italian coffee culture completely as coffee could now
be consumed in the comfort of your own home. The coffee pot’s clean classic design with its symmetrical eight-faceted metallic body is easily recognizable and has remained exact same for over 70 years. This exhibition was designed to showcase its innovation and influence
on design and coffee culture around the world.
The Bialetti Exhibition design was inspired by the unique modern design of the Bialetti Moka Express and its hexagonal shape. Throughout the space, the hexagon inspired many design decisions as everything was based on the number eight. The geometric sharp lines mimicked the modern aspects of the Moka Express making the exhibition a physical manifestation of the iconic design. Design decisions were inspired by the Art Nouveau design movement and Italian culture to create a
perfect modern blend of innovation and comfort.
