Atlanta's annual Ice Cream Festival is a celebration of America's favorite sweet cold treat in the midst
of the hot summer in the city.

For almost the past decade Atlanta has celebrated National Ice Cream Day by hosting a festival in Piedmont Park. The event brings the community together through the celebration of ice cream, highlighting local favorites including Jakes Ice Cream, King of Pops, and Jenis Ice Cream. The Festival provides activities and fun for people of all ages, again supporting the idea of community.

visual inspiration

The Atlanta Ice Cream Festival Re-design was inspired by the idea of community. The new logo has a much larger emphasis on the city of Atlanta. The abbreviation, ATL is familiar yet playful and is emphasized by the A becoming the ice cream cone.

The use of a rounded san serif was chosen for its comfortable stability
in relation to the rounded ice cream icon. A variety of patterns were also designed as supplementary elements and allude to the aesthetic of ice cream flavors and toppings, creating a playful, thoughtful the system.
